Tribal Warfare HMS Tartar, World War 2【電子書籍】[ Archie Meiklem ]

Archie Meiklem was a Scot from Glasgow; he joined the Royal Navy in 1942 where after basic training was posted to the Tribal Class destroyer HMS Tartar. Tribals were the super-destroyers of the RN, when War was declared there were 16 in the Fleet, by 1945 only 4 were left. Tartar was one of these. from the arctic to the Mediterranean, and then D-day before sailing to the far east Tartar saw it all, and every detail is recorded in the diary account written as it happened by this exceptional, but classified "Ordinary Seaman, Hostilities Only". Archie died as a result of a particular violent mugging in 1970, but before this happened he presented his typed original text to another Tribal sailor, Terry Lewin, later Admiral of the Fleet Lord Lewin, Commander in chief of the Falklands Forces. More than 50 years have passed since then, now to celebrate the 75th. anniversary of the end of The Second World War Archie and his splendid ship, HMS Tartar, have regained their place in history; they may all be gone, but their memories will never be forgotten. This is a book not to be missed, it is exactly as Archie wrote it, back then, this was the present, only now is it history.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。
